(9-10)
9I wrote something to the congregation, but Diotrephes, who likes to have the first place among them, does not receive anything from us with respect.
10That is why, if I come, I will call to remembrance his works which he goes on doing, chattering about us with wicked words. Also, not being content with these things, neither does he himself receive the brothers with respect, and those who are wanting to receive them he tries to hinder and to throw out of the congregation.
(9-10)
9I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us.
10So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church.

(9-10)

10How long, O God, will the adversary keep reproaching? Will the enemy keep treating your name with disrespect forever?
10How long will the enemy mock you, God? Will the foe revile your name forever?
18Remember this: The enemy himself has reproached, O Jehovah, And a senseless people have treated your name with disrespect.
18Remember how the enemy has mocked you, LORD, how foolish people have reviled your name.

8In like manner, notwithstanding, these men, too, indulging in dreams, are defiling the flesh and disregarding lordship and speaking abusively of glorious ones.
8In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings.
10Yet these [men] are speaking abusively of all the things they really do not know; but all the things that they do understand naturally like the unreasoning animals, in these things they go on corrupting themselves.
10Yet these people slander whatever they do not understand, and the very things they do understand by instinct—as irrational animals do—will destroy them.
