(2-3) 2“Honor your father and [your] mother”; which is the first command with a promise: 3“That it may go well with you and you may endure a long time on the earth.” (2-3) 2“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” (2-3) 2“Honra a tu padre y a [tu] madre”; que es el primer mandato con promesa: 3“Para que te vaya bien y dures largo tiempo sobre la tierra”.
^     Proverbs 23 Proverbs 23 Proverbios 23
22Listen to your father who caused your birth, and do not despise your mother just because she has grown old. 22Listen to your father, who gave you life,
and do not despise your mother when she is old.
22Escucha a tu padre, que causó tu nacimiento, y no desprecies a tu madre simplemente porque ha envejecido.

4But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let these learn first to practice godly devotion in their own household and to keep paying a due compensation to their parents and grandparents, for this is acceptable in God’s sight. 4But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. 4Pero si alguna viuda tiene hijos o nietos, que estos aprendan primero a practicar devoción piadosa en su propia casa y a seguir pagando la debida compensación a sus padres y abuelos, porque esto es acepto a vista de Dios.
