18While he was telling them these things, look! a certain ruler who had approached began to do obeisance to him, saying: “By now my daughter must be dead; but come and lay your hand upon her and she will come to life.”
19Then Jesus, getting up, began to follow him; also his disciples did.
20And, look! a woman suffering twelve years from a flow of blood came up behind and touched the fringe of his outer garment;
21for she kept saying to herself: “If I only touch his outer garment I shall get well.”
22Jesus turned around and, noticing her, said: “Take courage, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And from that hour the woman became well.
23When, now, he came into the ruler’s house and caught sight of the flute players and the crowd in noisy confusion,
24Jesus began to say: “Leave the place, for the little girl did not die, but she is sleeping.” At this they began to laugh at him scornfully.
25As soon as the crowd had been sent outside, he went in and took hold of her hand, and the little girl got up.
26Of course, the talk about this spread out into all that region.

18While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, “My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.”
19Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples.
20Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak.
21She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”
22Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.
23When Jesus entered the synagogue leader’s house and saw the noisy crowd and people playing pipes,
24he said, “Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at him.
25After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up.
26News of this spread through all that region.

18Mientras les decía estas cosas, ¡mire!, cierto gobernante que se había acercado se puso a rendirle homenaje, y a decir: “Ya debe estar muerta mi hija; pero ven y pon tu mano sobre ella, y llegará a vivir”.
19Entonces Jesús, levantándose, empezó a seguirle; también lo hicieron sus discípulos.
20Y, ¡mire!, una mujer que llevaba doce años padeciendo de flujo de sangre vino por detrás y tocó el fleco de la prenda de vestir exterior de él;
21porque decía para sí: “Si solo toco su prenda de vestir exterior, recobraré la salud”.
22Jesús se volvió y, al observarla, dijo: “Ten ánimo, hija; tu fe te ha devuelto la salud”. Y desde aquella hora la mujer recobró la salud.
23Ahora bien, cuando entró en la casa del gobernante y vio a los flautistas y a la muchedumbre en ruidosa confusión,
24Jesús se puso a decir: “Salgan de aquí, porque la muchachita no ha muerto, sino que duerme”. Ante eso, empezaron a reírse de él desdeñosamente.
25Tan pronto como la muchedumbre fue enviada fuera, él entró y tomó la mano de ella, y la muchachita se levantó.
26Por supuesto, la fama de esto se extendió por toda aquella región.

41But, look! a man named Jairus came, and this man was a presiding officer of the synagogue. And he fell at the feet of Jesus and began to entreat him to enter into his house,
42because he had an only-begotten daughter about twelve years old and she was dying.As he was going the crowds thronged him.
43And a woman, subject to a flow of blood for twelve years, who had not been able to get a cure from anyone,
44approached from behind and touched the fringe of his outer garment, and instantly her flow of blood stopped.
45So Jesus said: “Who was it that touched me?” When they were all denying it, Peter said: “Instructor, the crowds are hemming you in and closely pressing you.”
46Yet Jesus said: “Someone touched me, for I perceived that power went out of me.”
47Seeing that she had not escaped notice, the woman came trembling and fell down before him and disclosed before all the people the cause for which she touched him and how she was healed instantly.
48But he said to her: “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go your way in peace.”
49While he was yet speaking, a certain representative of the presiding officer of the synagogue came, saying: “Your daughter has died; do not bother the teacher any longer.”
50On hearing this, Jesus answered him: “Have no fear, only put forth faith, and she will be saved.”
51When he reached the house he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter and John and James and the girl’s father and mother.
52But people were all weeping and beating themselves in grief for her. So he said: “STOP weeping, for she did not die but is sleeping.”
53At this they began to laugh at him scornfully, because they knew she had died.
54But he took her by the hand and called, saying: “Girl, get up!”
55And her spirit returned, and she rose instantly, and he ordered something to be given her to eat.
56Well, her parents were beside themselves; but he instructed them to tell no one what had happened.

41Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house
42because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying.
43And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her.
44She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.
45“Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
46But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”
47Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed.
48Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”
49While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.”
50Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
51When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother.
52Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.”
53They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.
54But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!”
55Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.
56Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.

41Pero, ¡mira!, vino un varón, por nombre Jairo, y este varón era un presidente de la sinagoga. Y cayó a los pies de Jesús y se puso a suplicarle que entrara en su casa,
42porque tenía una hija unigénita, como de doce años, y esta se estaba muriendo.Mientras [Jesús] iba, las muchedumbres lo apretaban.
43Y una mujer, que padecía flujo de sangre hacía doce años, y que no había podido conseguir que nadie la curara,
44se acercó por detrás y le tocó el fleco de la prenda de vestir exterior, y al instante el flujo de su sangre cesó.
45De modo que Jesús dijo: “¿Quién es el que me ha tocado?”. Cuando todos lo negaban, Pedro dijo: “Instructor, las muchedumbres te cercan y te oprimen estrechamente”.
46Sin embargo, Jesús dijo: “Alguien me ha tocado, porque percibí que ha salido poder de mí”.
47Viendo que no había pasado inadvertida, la mujer vino temblando y cayó delante de él y reveló ante todo el pueblo por qué razón lo había tocado, y cómo había sido sanada al instante.
48Pero él le dijo: “Hija, tu fe te ha devuelto la salud; vete en paz”.
49Mientras él todavía estaba hablando, vino cierto representante del presidente de la sinagoga, y dijo: “Ha muerto tu hija; no molestes ya al maestro”.
50Al oír esto, Jesús le contestó: “No temas, solo muestra fe, y ella será salva”.
51Cuando llegó a la casa, no dejó que nadie entrara con él sino Pedro y Juan y Santiago y el padre y la madre de la muchacha.
52Pero toda la gente estaba llorando y golpeándose en desconsuelo por ella. De modo que él dijo: “Dejen de llorar, porque no murió, sino que duerme”.
53Ante esto, empezaron a reírse de él desdeñosamente, porque sabían que ella había muerto.
54Mas él la tomó de la mano y llamó, diciendo: “Muchacha, ¡levántate!”.
55Y el espíritu de ella volvió, y ella se levantó al instante, y él ordenó que se le diera algo de comer.
56Pues bien, sus padres quedaron fuera de sí; pero él les dio instrucciones de que no dijeran a nadie lo que había acontecido.
