1Now on the third day a marriage feast took place in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
2Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the marriage feast.
3When the wine ran short the mother of Jesus said to him: “They have no wine.”
4But Jesus said to her: “What have I to do with you, woman? My hour has not yet come.”
5His mother said to those ministering: “Whatever he tells YOU, do.”
6As it was, there were six stone water jars sitting there as required by the purification rules of the Jews, each able to hold two or three liquid measures.
7Jesus said to them: “Fill the water jars with water.” And they filled them to the brim.
8And he said to them: “Draw some out now and take it to the director of the feast.” So they took it.
9When, now, the director of the feast tasted the water that had been turned into wine but did not know what its source was, although those ministering who had drawn out the water knew, the director of the feast called the bridegroom
10and said to him: “Every other man puts out the fine wine first, and when people are intoxicated, the inferior. You have reserved the fine wine until now.”
11Jesus performed this in Cana of Galilee as [the] beginning of his signs, and he made his glory manifest; and his disciples put their faith in him.

1On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,
2and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
3When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”
4“Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”
5His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
6Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.
7Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.
8Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”
9and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside
10and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
11What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

1Ahora bien, al tercer día se efectuó un banquete de bodas en Caná de Galilea, y estaba allí la madre de Jesús.
2Jesús y sus discípulos también fueron invitados al banquete de bodas.
3Cuando faltó el vino, la madre de Jesús le dijo: “No tienen vino”.
4Pero Jesús le dijo: “¿Qué tengo que ver contigo, mujer? Todavía no ha llegado mi hora”.
5Su madre dijo a los que ministraban: “Todo cuanto les diga, háganlo”.
6Sucedió que había puestas allí seis tinajas de piedra para agua según lo exigido por los reglamentos de purificación de los judíos, cada una de las cuales podía contener dos o tres medidas de líquido.
7Jesús les dijo: “Llenen de agua las tinajas de agua”. Y las llenaron hasta el borde.
8Y les dijo: “Saquen un poco ahora y llévenlo al director del banquete”. De modo que ellos lo llevaron.
9Pues bien, cuando el director del banquete probó el agua que había sido convertida en vino, pero no sabía de dónde venía, aunque lo sabían los que ministraban que habían sacado el agua, el director del banquete llamó al novio
10y le dijo: “Todo otro hombre pone primero el vino excelente, y cuando la gente está embriagada, el inferior. Tú has reservado el vino excelente hasta ahora”.
11Jesús ejecutó esto en Caná de Galilea como principio de sus señales, y puso de manifiesto su gloria; y sus discípulos pusieron su fe en él.
