8Then Peter, filled with holy spirit, said to them:“Rulers of the people and older men,
9if we are this day being examined, on the basis of a good deed to an ailing man, as to by whom this man has been made well,
10let it be known to all of YOU and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom YOU impaled but whom God raised up from the dead, by this one does this man stand here sound in front of YOU.
11This is ‘the stone that was treated by YOU builders as of no account that has become the head of the corner.’

8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people!
9If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed,
10then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.
11Jesus is

8Entonces Pedro, lleno de espíritu santo, les dijo:
“Gobernantes del pueblo y ancianos,
9si a nosotros se nos examina este día, sobre la base de una acción buena hecha a un hombre enfermizo, en cuanto a por quién ha recibido la salud este,
10séales conocido a todos ustedes y a todo el pueblo de Israel, que en el nombre de Jesucristo el Nazareno, a quien ustedes fijaron en un madero, pero a quien Dios levantó de entre los muertos, por este se halla este hombre de pie aquí sano delante de ustedes.
11Esta es ‘la piedra que fue tratada por ustedes los edificadores como de ningún valor, que ha llegado a ser cabeza del ángulo’.

4Coming to him as to a living stone, rejected, it is true, by men, but chosen, precious, with God,
5YOU yourselves also as living stones are being built up a spiritual house for the purpose of a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6For it is contained in Scripture: “Look! I am laying in Zion a stone, chosen, a foundation cornerstone, precious; and no one exercising faith in it will by any means come to disappointment.”
7It is to YOU, therefore, that he is precious, because YOU are believers; but to those not believing, “the identical stone that the builders rejected has become [the] head of [the] corner,”
8and “a stone of stumbling and a rock-mass of offense.” These are stumbling because they are disobedient to the word. To this very end they were also appointed.

4As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—
5you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6For in Scripture it says:
7Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
8and,

4Llegando a él como a una piedra viva, rechazada, es verdad, por los hombres, pero escogida, preciosa, para con Dios,
5ustedes mismos también como piedras vivas están siendo edificados en casa espiritual para el propósito de un sacerdocio santo, para ofrecer sacrificios espirituales aceptos a Dios mediante Jesucristo.
6Porque está contenido en la Escritura: “¡Miren!, voy a colocar en Sión una piedra, escogida, una piedra angular de fundamento, preciosa; y nadie que ejerza fe en ella sufrirá desilusión de manera alguna”.
7Para ustedes, por lo tanto, él es precioso, porque son creyentes; pero para los que no creen: “la mismísima piedra que los edificadores rechazaron ha llegado a ser [la] cabeza de[l] ángulo”,
8y “una piedra de tropiezo y masa rocosa de ofensa”. Estos tropiezan porque son desobedientes a la palabra. Para este mismo fin también fueron señalados.
