^     Genesis 2 Genesis 2 Génesis 2
(8-9) 8Further, Jehovah God planted a garden in Eden, toward the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9Thus Jehovah God made to grow out of the ground every tree desirable to one’s sight and good for food and also the tree of life in the middle of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and bad. (8-9) 8Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9The LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
