3doing nothing out of contentiousness or out of egotism, but with lowliness of mind considering that the others are superior to YOU,
|
3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
|

(14-16)
14But if YOU have bitter jealousy and contentiousness in YOUR hearts, do not be bragging and lying against the truth.
15This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is [the] earthly, animal, demonic.
16For where jealousy and contentiousness are, there disorder and every vile thing are.
|
(14-16)
14But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.
15Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.
16For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
|
(14-16)
