(20-21) ²⁰For YOU know this first, that no prophecy of Scripture springs from any private interpretation. ²¹For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit.

(20-21) ²⁰Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. ²¹For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

(20-21) ²⁰Porque ustedes saben esto primero, que ninguna profecía de la Escritura proviene de interpretación privada alguna. ²¹Porque la profecía no fue traída en ningún tiempo por la voluntad del hombre, sino que hombres hablaron de parte de Dios al ser llevados por espíritu santo.

(5-6) ⁵And I, for my part, kept on considering, and, look! there was a male of the goats coming from the sunset upon the surface of the whole earth, and it was not touching the earth. And as regards the he-goat, there was a conspicuous horn between its eyes. ⁶And it kept coming all the way to the ram possessing the two horns, which I had seen standing before the watercourse; and it came running toward it in its powerful rage.

(5-6) ⁵As I was thinking about this, suddenly a goat with a prominent horn between its eyes came from the west, crossing the whole earth without touching the ground. ⁶It came toward the two-horned ram I had seen standing beside the canal and charged at it in great rage.

(5-6) ⁵Y yo, por mi parte, seguí considerando, y, ¡mire!, había un macho de las cabras que venía del poniente sobre la superficie de toda la tierra, y no tocaba la tierra. Y en lo que respecta al macho cabrío, había un cuerno conspicuo entre sus ojos. ⁶Y siguió viniendo hasta el carnero que poseía los dos cuernos, el cual yo había visto parado delante de la corriente de agua; y vino corriendo hacia él en su poderosa furia.

(20-22) ²⁰“The ram that you saw possessing the two horns [stands for] the kings of Media and Persia. ²¹And the hairy he-goat [stands for] the king of Greece; and as for the great horn that was between its eyes, it [stands for] the first king. ²²And that one having been broken, so that there were four that finally stood up instead of it, there are four kingdoms from [his] nation that will stand up, but not with his power.

(20-22) ²⁰The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia. ²¹The shaggy goat is the king of Greece, and the large horn between its eyes is the first king. ²²The four horns that replaced the one that was broken off represent four kingdoms that will emerge from his nation but will not have the same power.

(20-22) ²⁰”El carnero que tú viste que poseía los dos cuernos [representa a] los reyes de Media y Persia. ²¹Y el macho cabrío peludo [representa] al rey de Grecia; y en cuanto al gran cuerno que estaba entre sus ojos, [representa] al primer rey. ²²Y puesto que ese fue quebrado, de modo que hubo cuatro que finalmente se levantaron en lugar de él, hay cuatro reinos de [su] nación que se pondrán de pie, pero no con su poder.

(5-6) ⁵Later, as certain ones were speaking concerning the temple, how it was adorned with fine stones and dedicated things, ⁶he said: “As for these things that YOU are beholding, the days will come in which not a stone upon a stone will be left here and not be thrown down.”

(5-6) ⁵Some of his disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said, ⁶“As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.”

(5-6) ⁵Más tarde, cuando algunos hablaban respecto al templo, cómo estaba adornado de piedras hermosas y cosas dedicadas, ⁶él dijo: “En cuanto a estas cosas que contemplan, vendrán los días en que no se dejará aquí piedra sobre piedra que no sea derribada”.

(20-22) ²⁰“Furthermore, when YOU see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that the desolating of her has drawn near. ²¹Then let those in Judea begin fleeing to the mountains, and let those in the midst of her withdraw, and let those in the country places not enter into her; ²²because these are days for meting out justice, that all the things written may be fulfilled.

(20-22) ²⁰“When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. ²¹Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. ²²For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written.

(20-22) ²⁰”Además, cuando vean a Jerusalén cercada de ejércitos acampados, entonces sepan que la desolación de ella se ha acercado. ²¹Entonces los que estén en Judea echen a huir a las montañas, y los que estén en medio de [Jerusalén] retírense, y los que estén en los lugares rurales no entren en ella; ²²porque estos son días para hacer justicia, para que se cumplan todas las cosas que están escritas.

(1-4) ¹This is what Jehovah has said to his anointed one, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have taken hold of, to subdue before him nations, so that I may ungird even the hips of kings; to open before him the two-leaved doors, so that even the gates will not be shut: ²“Before you I myself shall go, and the swells of land I shall straighten out. The copper doors I shall break in pieces, and the iron bars I shall cut down. ³And I will give you the treasures in the darkness and the hidden treasures in the concealment places, in order that you may know that I am Jehovah, the One calling [you] by your name, the God of Israel. ⁴For the sake of my servant Jacob and of Israel my chosen one, I even proceeded to call you by your name; I proceeded to give you a name of honor, although you did not know me.

(1-4) ¹“This is what the LORD says to his anointed,
   to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of
to subdue nations before him
   and to strip kings of their armor,
to open doors before him
   so that gates will not be shut:
²I will go before you
   and will level the mountains;
I will break down gates of bronze
   and cut through bars of iron.
³I will give you hidden treasures,
   riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the LORD,
   the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
⁴For the sake of Jacob my servant,
   of Israel my chosen,
I summon you by name
   and bestow on you a title of honor,
   though you do not acknowledge me.

(1-4) ¹Esto es lo que ha dicho Jehová a su ungido, a Ciro, a quien he asido de la diestra, para sojuzgar delante de él naciones, para que yo desciña hasta las caderas de reyes; para abrir delante de él las puertas de dos hojas, de modo que las puertas mismas no estén cerradas: ²“Delante de ti yo mismo iré, y enderezaré las protuberancias del terreno. Las puertas de cobre haré pedazos, y cortaré las barras de hierro. ³Y ciertamente te daré los tesoros que están en la oscuridad y los tesoros escondidos que están en los escondrijos, para que sepas que yo soy Jehová, Aquel que [te] llama por tu nombre, el Dios de Israel. ⁴Por causa de mi siervo Jacob y de Israel mi escogido, hasta procedí a llamarte por tu nombre; procedí a darte un nombre de honra, aunque tú no me conocías.

(16-17) ¹⁶All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, ¹⁷that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

(16-17) ¹⁶All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, ¹⁷so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

(16-17) ¹⁶Toda Escritura es inspiradade Dios y provechosa para enseñar,para censurar, para rectificar las cosas, para disciplinar en justicia, ¹⁷para que el hombre de Dios sea enteramente competente [y esté] completamente equipado para toda buena obra.

⁴For all the things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction, that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope.

⁴For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

⁴Porque todas las cosas que fueron escritas en tiempo pasado fueron escritas para nuestra instrucción, para que mediante nuestro aguante y mediante el consuelo de las Escrituras tengamos esperanza.

¹³Indeed, that is why we also thank God incessantly, because when YOU received God’s word, which YOU heard from us, YOU accepted it, not as the word of men, but, just as it truthfully is, as the word of God, which is also at work in YOU believers.

¹³And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.

¹³Realmente, por eso nosotros también incesantemente damos gracias a Dios, porque cuando ustedes recibieron la palabra de Dios, que oyeron de parte de nosotros, la aceptaron, no como palabra de hombres, sino, como lo que verdaderamente es, como palabra de Dios, la cual también está obrando en ustedes los creyentes.

(1-2) ¹And these are the last words of David:
“The utterance of David the son of Jesse,
And the utterance of the able-bodied man that was raised up on high,
The anointed of the God of Jacob,
And the pleasant one of the melodies of Israel.

²The spirit of Jehovah it was that spoke by me,
And his word was upon my tongue.

(1-2) ¹These are the last words of David: ²“The Spirit of the LORD spoke through me;
his word was on my tongue.

(1-2) ¹Y estas son las últimas palabras de David:
“La expresión de David hijo de Jesé,
y la expresión del hombre físicamente capacitado que fue levantado en alto,
el ungido del Dios de Jacob,
y el agradable de las melodías de Israel.

²El espíritu de Jehová fue lo que habló por mí,

¹⁶“Men, brothers, it was necessary for the scripture to be fulfilled, which the holy spirit spoke beforehand by David’s mouth about Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus,

¹⁶and said, “Brothers and sisters, the Scripture had to be fulfilled in which the Holy Spirit spoke long ago through David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus.

¹⁶“Varones, hermanos, era necesario que se cumpliera la escritura, que el espíritu santo habló de antemano por boca de David acerca de Judas, que se hizo guía de los que arrestaron a Jesús,

²⁵So, because they were at disagreement with one another, they began to depart, while Paul made this one comment:

“The holy spirit aptly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to YOUR forefathers,

²⁵They disagreed among themselves and began to leave after Paul had made this final statement: “The Holy Spirit spoke the truth to your ancestors when he said through Isaiah the prophet:

²⁵Así, porque estaban en desacuerdo unos con otros, empezaron a irse, mientras Pablo hacía este único comentario:
“Aptamente habló el espíritu santo por Isaías el profeta a los antepasados de ustedes,

²¹whom heaven, indeed, must hold within itself until the times of restoration of all things of which God spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets of old time.

²¹Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.
