(2-3)
2For YOU yourselves know quite well that Jehovah’s day is coming exactly as a thief in the night.
3Whenever it is that they are saying: “Peace and security!” then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them just as the pang of distress upon a pregnant woman; and they will by no means escape.
|
(2-3)
2for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
3While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
|
(2-3)

10Yet Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a hissing noise, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be discovered.
|
10But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
|

(34-35)
34“But pay attention to yourselves that YOUR hearts never become weighed down with overeating and heavy drinking and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day be instantly upon YOU
35as a snare. For it will come in upon all those dwelling upon the face of all the earth.
|
(34-35)
34“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.
35For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth.
|
(34-35)

15“Look! I am coming as a thief. Happy is the one that stays awake and keeps his outer garments, that he may not walk naked and people look upon his shamefulness.”
|
15“Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”
|
15“¡Mira!

(12-15)
12A good-for-nothing man, a man of hurtfulness, is walking with crookedness of speech,
13winking with his eye, making signs with his foot, making indications with his fingers.
14Perverseness is in his heart. He is fabricating something bad all the time. He keeps sending out merely contentions.
15That is why suddenly there will come his disaster; in an instant he will be broken, and there will be no healing.
|
(12-15)
12A troublemaker and a villain, who goes about with a corrupt mouth,
13who winks maliciously with his eye, signals with his feet and motions with his fingers,
14who plots evil with deceit in his heart— he always stirs up conflict.
15Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.
|
(12-15)
