5In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there happened to be a certain priest named Zechariah of the division of Abijah, and he had a wife from the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

5In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron.

5Sucedió que en los días de Herodes, rey de Judea, hubo cierto sacerdote de nombre Zacarías, de la división de Abías, y este tenía una esposa que vino de las hijas de Aarón, y el nombre de ella era Elisabet.

26In her sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent forth from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
27to a virgin promised in marriage to a man named Joseph of David’s house; and the name of the virgin was Mary.
28And when he went in before her he said: “Good day, highly favored one, Jehovah is with you.”

26In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee,
27to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
28The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

26En el sexto mes de ella el ángel Gabriel fue enviado de parte de Dios a una ciudad de Galilea cuyo nombre era Nazaret,
27a una virgen que estaba comprometida para casarse con un varón de nombre José, de la casa de David; y el nombre de la virgen era María.

8There were also in that same country shepherds living out of doors and keeping watches in the night over their flocks.
9And suddenly Jehovah’s angel stood by them, and Jehovah’s glory gleamed around them, and they became very fearful.

8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.

8También había en aquella misma zona pastores que vivían a campo raso y guardaban las vigilias de la noche sobre sus rebaños.
9Y de repente el ángel de Jehová estuvo de pie junto a ellos, yla gloria de Jehová centelleó en derredor de ellos, y tuvieron gran temor.

2Meanwhile there happened to be a certain man of Zorah of the family of the Danites, and his name was Manoah. And his wife was barren and had borne no child.
3In time Jehovah’s angel appeared to the woman and said to her: “Look, now, you are barren and have borne no child. And you will certainly become pregnant and give birth to a son.

2A certain man of Zorah, named Manoah, from the clan of the Danites, had a wife who was childless, unable to give birth.
3The angel of the LORD appeared to her and said, “You are barren and childless, but you are going to become pregnant and give birth to a son.

2Entretanto, hubo cierto hombre de Zorá, de la familia de los danitas, y su nombre era Manóah. Y su esposa era estéril y no había dado a luz hijo alguno.
3Con el tiempo el ángel de Jehová se apareció a la mujer y le dijo: “Mira esto ahora: eres estéril y no has dado a luz hijo alguno. Y ciertamente llegarás a estar encinta y darás a luz un hijo.
