10O YOU lovers of Jehovah, hate what is bad.

for he guards the lives of his faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

9Accordingly I say to YOU, Keep on asking, and it will be given YOU; keep on seeking, and YOU will find; keep on knocking, and it will be opened to YOU.
10For everyone asking receives, and everyone seeking finds, and to everyone knocking it will be opened.
11Indeed, which father is there among YOU who, if his son asks for a fish, will perhaps hand him a serpent instead of a fish?
12Or if he also asks for an egg, will hand him a scorpion?
13Therefore, if YOU, although being wicked, know how to give good gifts to YOUR children, how much more so will the Father in heaven give holy spirit to those asking him!”

9“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
10For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
11“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?
12Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
13If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

9Por consiguiente, les digo: Sigan pidiendo, y se les dará; sigan buscando, y hallarán; sigan tocando, y se les abrirá.
10Porque todo el que pide recibe, y todo el que busca halla, y a todo el que toca se le abrirá.
11Realmente, ¿qué padre hay entre ustedes que, si su hijo pide un pescado, le dará acaso una serpiente en vez de un pescado?
12¿O si también pide un huevo, le dará un escorpión?
13Por lo tanto, si ustedes, aunque son inicuos, saben dar buenos regalos a sus hijos, ¡con cuánta más razón dará el Padre en el cielo espíritu santo a los que le piden!”.
